Shikaripura: B S Yeddyurappa files nomination

Shimoga: BJP’s chief ministerial candidate B S Yedyurappa filed his nomination papers for Shikaripura Assembly constituency in the afternoon around 1:25pm on Thursday. The returning officer of Shikaripura taluk accepted his nomination.

Yeddyurappa performed ‘puja’ at Huchurayaswamy Temple in the town after which he submitted his nomination papers. He was accompanied by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh, Union Minister Anant Kumar and MLA B Y Rahgavendra.

BSY later took part in a public meeting at the weekly marketplace. He sought the support of the voters of Shikaripura constituency as he was taken in a procession. BJP candidate Molakalmuru B Siramalu was one among the thousands of participants in the procession.
