Depressed over husband’s death: wife kills son, commits suicide

Bengaluru: Meena, wife of TV anchor Chandan Shetty who passed away in a car accident on May 24, killed her child on Thursday morning by slitting his throat and from there on consumed acid, died in Victoria hospital on the evening of May 31.
Meena Chandan, 38, was experiencing serious depression because of her husband’s demise. Her brother was staying with her and her son Tushar C at their home in Someshwaranagar of Doddaballapura town to enable them to get over the harsh time.
He had returned to his home to drop his son to class when Meena slit her child Tushar’s throat and afterward cut her hands with a similar blade a few times. She likewise consumed acid. At the point when Manju returned, he saw Tushar lying in a pool of blood and Meena in unconscious stage close to the kid.
He took the help of neighbors to rush Meena to a private hospital. As per Doddaballapur police, Tushar a student of Class eight in a private school. Anchor Chandan, who was going along with his friends, died in a car accident near Harihara of Davangere on May 24.
Meena was moved from the private hospital to Victoria Hospital where she passed away last night.
