Dissent among JD(S) MLAs over portfolios angers CM Kumaraswamy

Bengaluru: Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy is infuriated at the contradiction that erupted in his party and has named the attitude of the leaders who are squeezing him for ‘better’ portfolios as ‘ungrateful’.
JD(S) leaders G T Devegowda, who defeated former CM Siddaramaiah, and C S Puttaraju are allegedly upset for being designated the higher education portfolio and minor water irrigation portfolio separately.
Gowda had been planning to get PWD or energy while Puttaraju was enthusiastic about the transport portfolio. They apparently voiced their dispute and demanded Kumaraswamy to give them better portfolios, which enraged the CM.
Without naming them, the CM addressed what was wrong with higher education and minor water system portfolios. “When one ought to be worried about doing great work, for what reason would it be a good idea for it to trouble which portfolio is granted to them? They should have communicated to the party earlier,” he said.
He additionally scrutinized the ministers demands for particular official chambers in the third floor of Vidhana Soudha and government bungalows . “The party’s decision is final. The leaders should accept it,” he told the media.
The CM likewise communicated certainty that the infighting in his party will be settled in seven days.
