Bengaluru: A 45-year-old man who stamped his wife to death has been arrested by the Raja Gopal Nagar police. The accused, suspecting his wife’s fidelity, pushed her on the floor during an argument. He at that point stamped on her throat after which the lady passed away. He surrendered before the police on Friday.

The accused has been identified as Jagadish, 45, a private firm employee. His wife Sowmya, 29, was an employee in a garment factory. The couple used to live in Rajeshwari Nagar with their 10-year-old son.

Allegedly, the couple used to often fight over her suspected affair. On Thursday night at around 10 pm, the two fought again and amid the heated argument, the husband is said to have killed his wife.

Around 12.30 am, the accused came to the Raja Gopal Nagar police station and surrendered. After hearing his record, police hurried to his home and moved the body to the morgue in Victoria hospital for post mortem. Further examination is in progress.
