NIA seizes fake notes worth lakhs

Bengaluru: The National Investigation (NIA) seized fake notes worth Rs.7 lakh in Rs 2,000 denomination and arrested four persons, including a woman here on Wednesday.
Based on a tip off, the NIA Mumbai branch raided Aluru and recovered Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) with a face value of Rs 4.34 lakh from M.G. Raju, Gangadhar Kolkar and Sajjad Ali.
NIA Spokesperson Alok Mittal told a news channel that the fake notes which were seized was similar to genuine Rs 2,000 currency notes and it was difficult for a lay person to differentiate.
The officials said an FIR was lodged with Bengaluru Police and the smugglers are being interrogated about their handlers and suppliers.
