Gauri Lankesh murder: Police question Belagavi man

Bengaluru: SIT officials investigating the murder case of senior journalist Gauri Lankesh, questioned a suspect from Belagavi for his involvement in the killing.

The man has been identified as Sagar Lakhe, is allegedly under the SIT custody.

It has been reported that while the SIT was probing Bharath Kurne, Lakhe’s name surfaced.

However, M.N. Anucheth, Chief Investigating Officer of the SIT, said, “ Lakhe has not been taken in custody, but was asked to come for an inquiry which he complied. He was questioned in SIT office at CID on Thursday.”
It is learnt that Kurne was brought to the city for investigation recently and had named Lakhe.
