​Dalit organisations to convene state-wide agitation for dalit Chief Minister

Bengaluru : The dalit organisations have decided to convene State wide agitation starting from Tuesday, February 24, to stress their demand to appoint a dalit leader as the Chief Minister of Karnataka.

The leaders who convened a meeting on Monday, February 23, arrived at a decision that they would organise movements in all the districts to create awareness among the people about the need for a dalit CM.

The movement will kick start from Ballari, the leaders said.

"The agitation will kick start in Ballari, thereafter it will be convened in various place. On April, a mammoth convention will also be organised in Bengaluru to be witnessed by lakhs of dalits. A delegation will also meet Congress High Command Sona Gandhi to stress their demand for a dalit CM,"said RPI leader Venkataswamy.
