Car Street soaks in colors of Kodial Teru
Mangaluru : Streets of Rathabidi (Car Street) turned colourful on Tuesday, as thousands of devotees celebrated the Okuli festival (Holi) which was organised as part of Kodial Teru.
Dancing to the tunes of Bollywood songs, people irrespective of their age and gender were seen on the streets hurling coloured powder and water at each other.
The temple and the temple square wore a festive look as devotees thronged in to seek blessings of Lord Venkatramana. People were seen exchanging hugs and sweets to mark the celebration.
Kodial Teru or Mangaluru Rathotsava (Mangaluru Car Festival) is one of the major festivals of the Gaud Saraswat Brahmin (GSB) community, which celebrates the car festival of the Sri Venkatramana Temple.
