Bengaluru: Three persons were held guilty in the 2016 Mysuru District Court bomb blast case by a Nation Intelligence Agency (NIA) Special Court in Bengaluru.

The bench headed by Justice Kasanappa Naik held Nainar Abbas Ali alias Library Abbas, M. Samsun Kareem Raja alias Abdul Kareem, and Dawood Sulaiman guilty for the charges booked against them in the case.

Ayub, the third accused in the case, was acquitted by the court for the reason that he was unaware of the activities of the other accused.

The quantum of punishment would be pronounced at the next hearing on October 11.

According to the charge sheet, the convicts sympathized and supported the terror organization Al Qaeda. Inspired by slain terrorist Osama Bin Laden’s ideology, Nainar Abbas and Dawood Sulaiman had formed a group in Tamil Nadu called the “Base movement” in 2015, the police said.

As per police investigations the convicted persons had also carried out bomb blasts at Chittoor Court in Andhra Pradesh on April 7, 2016, at Kollam Court in Kerala on May 15, 2016, Nellore Court in Andhra Pradesh on September 12, 2016, and also at Mallapuram Court in Kerala on November 1, 2016.
