Bajaj has launched the updated Platina 110 in India, christened as Platina 110 H Gear. As the name indicates, the major update on the bike comes in the form of gearbox and instrument cluster. With a lot of segment-first features, the new Platina 110 is available in both drum and disc brake versions.
The 2019 Platina 110 H Gear is the first model in its segment to feature a 5-speed gearbox. The bike also gets an all-new semi-digital instrument cluster with a gear shift and gear assist indicator that suggests the rider to shift up or shift down the gear, thus offering better fuel efficiency. Bajaj calls this gear shifting process as ‘H-Gear’ functionality.
The updated Bajaj Platina 110 now gets a front disc brake option and the suspension duties are handled by a telescopic fork at the front and nitrox dual shock absorbers at the rear. Mechanically, the new Bajaj Platina 110 remains the same with the 115cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that makes a power of 8.6PS and a peak torque of 9.81Nm.
Bajaj has priced the Platina 110 H Gear Drum brake variant at Rs.53,376 and the Platina 110 H Gear Disc brake variant at Rs.55,373 (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi). In terms of competition, the 2019 Bajaj Platina 110 will take on the likes of the Hero Splendor Plus iSmart, Honda Dream Yuga and TVS Star City Plus.
