Emotions more or less take advantage of us in most situations. Emotions at a particular moment decide your mood and how you interact with people. We all have been in an argument with our friends and family and said things that we shouldn’t and regret later.
Label your emotions
Before we work on controlling our emotions, one need to be able to label them. Tagging your emotion take a lot of the sting out of the emotion. It can also help you take careful note of how those feelings are likely to affect your decisions. Make a list of your emotions and keep a track of them in your mind
Keep your thoughts aside
You perceive events the way you are thinking at that moment. Consider the emotional filter you’re looking at the world through. If your sad and receive a text from your boss saying, “Urgent meeting”, you will automatically assume that there is going to be bad news.
Manage your moods
You need to engage in activities which will change your mood. If you are working for long hours, take a short break and talk to someone. Keep diverting your mind and keep practicing until you start managing your emotions.
