Bagalkote: 48 hospitalised in suspected food poisoning

In a case of suspected food poisoning, as many as 48 people, including 22 children were hospitalised after consuming food served during a Urus festival at Domanal village of Bagalkot taluk.
The incident took place on Tuesday. Around 80 villagers who attended the festival showed signs of sickness and began vomiting later in the day. Out of the 80, 48 people were rushed to the district civil hospital for further treatment. Their condition is said to be stable.
On Wednesday, District Collector Dr K Rajendra visited the hospital and enquired about the health of the patients.
Samples of the food have been sent for examination and a report is awaited.
