7-yr-old child drowns in drain

New Delhi: A seven-year-old boy today drowned in an open drain in northwest Delhi’s Wazirpur area today, police said. It is suspected that the boy fell into the drain while he was playing, they added.

His body was found floating in the drain today around 10.30 am by some children who were also playing near the drain.  The boy’s father works as a labourer while his mother works as a maid in nearby bungalows.

The post-mortem was conducted and no foul play was found, the police added.
