The stories of elderly people being mistreated or neglected are far too common, and it’s a sad reality that needs to change. However, one elderly man from UP’s Muzaffarnagar got sweet revenge against his own family.
Nathu Singh, aged 80, has made headlines with his astonishing decision by donating his property worth more than Rs 1 crore to the Uttar Pradesh governor.
Nathu Singh took a bold step and filed an affidavit to the sub-registrar office, handing over his residential house and 10 bigha agricultural land to the governor. He requested that a school or a hospital be built on the land after his death.
PTI reported that Nathu Singh was allegedly been facing ill-treatment from his son and daughter-in-law, which ultimately led him to stay in an old-age home. It’s a heartbreaking reminder of how elders are sometimes mistreated or neglected by their own families.
In case you are wondering about the legality of his decision, PTI reported that the sub-registrar of Budhana tehsil, Pankaj Jain, has confirmed that the will is legally binding. Nathu Singh has registered a will on March 4 donating his residential house and 10 bigha agriculture land valued at around Rs 1 crore to the state governor, he said.
