A speculated bribe for voters

Hassan: Residents of Kaniyuru village in Arkalgud constituency were in for a meaty surprise when a few youths distributed boxes containing two kilos of mutton to everyone. They came on motorcycles and gave away boxes of meat to whoever was standing on the road. They did not say anything about who sent it or what it was for and left as abruptly as they came.

In the wake of the elections, it may be suspected that it was the ploy of a candidate to seek political benefit, but of what good is it if it was anonymous. The Arkalgud constituency has district minister A. Manju from the Congress, A.T. Ramaswamy from the JD(S) and Yoga Ramesh from the BJP.
