Issuing life threat to mosque chief: Accused arrested upon landing at MIA

Mangaluru: Police arrested an accused wanted for issuing death threats to a mosque head when he landed at Mangaluru International Airport on December 31.
The accused has been identified as Samsuddin (54) son of H Ahmad Beary from Hejamady in Udupi. He was wanted in a case related to issuing life threats over the phone to one H B Mohammad, head of a mosque in Hejamady.
A court had issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) was issued against the accused in 2019 as he was living abroad and did not present himself for questioning.
When Sahmshuddin landed at Mangaluru International Airport on December 31, the customs officials noticed the LOC and informed the police about it. Later, he was arrested and produced before the court.
