Agumbe Ghat closed for repair from Apr 1

Udupi: The national highway 169 A passing along Agumbe Ghat will be remain closed for vehicles from April 1 to 30 to aid the permanent repair work being undertaken along this stretch, ordered Udupi DC Hephsiba Rani Korlapati.
Alternative route
As an alternative route for the closed Ghat road, light motor vehicles such as cars, jeeps, ordinary bus, mini bus, two-wheelers are directed to take Udupi-Karkala-Mallaghatta-Sringeri-Koppa-Thirthahalli route on National Highway 169.
Meanwhile, the alternative route for heavy vehicles like Rajahamsa and Airavat KSRTC buses, private luxury buses, bullet tankers, ship cargo containers and long chassis vehicles has been provided via Udupi-Kundapura-Siddapura-Hosangadi-Masthikatte-Thirthahalli on National Highway 52.
The repair will begin from April 1st and signboards will be installed at various locations requesting the motorists to desist from using the route which is currently undergoing repairs, informed the notification from the DC.
