Amazon discontinues one-month Prime subscription, free trial in India

OTT platform Amazon Prime will not allow users to buy the one-month subscription plan worth Rs 129. The company has also discontinued the free Amazon Prime trial pack

The e-commerce giant will only be offering three-month or annual Prime memberships.  Three months subscription for Amazon Prime is priced at Rs. 329 and the yearly membership is priced at Rs. 999 per year.It has been done to comply with the Reserve Bank of India’s new guidelines

RBI’s guideline asks banks and financial institutions to implement an additional factor of authentication (AFA) for processing recurring online transactions.

The deadline for implementation of this new mandate has been set for September 30.
