Another cyclone likely to hit coastal K’taka?

Mangaluru: The Met department on Wednesday issued an orange alert, indicating heavy to very rainfall in coastal Karnataka for two days following formation of a deep depression in the Arabian sea.
Since the depression over Maldives- Comorin and Lakshadweep area has “intensified into a deep Depression over Lakshadweep and adjoining southeast Arabian Sea and Maldives area, there is a possibility of another cyclone hitting the state’s coastal area.
Meanwhile several parts of Dakshina Kannada district experienced good rainfall on Wednesday.
As a precautionary measure, three ships have been kept ready for emergency operations at the port here.
