Aprilia Storm 125 scooter has been launched in India at Rs.65,000 (ex-showroom). With the launch of Storm 125, Aprilia extends its product portfolio in the scooter segment. Unlike the Storm 125 model displayed first at the 2018 Auto Expo, the production model comes only with drum brakes at both ends, lacking the disc brake and windshield.
Storm 125 resembles the SR 125 in its body styling, lights and instrumentation except for the colours that come in matte finishing with black monotone graphics. The scooter gets a chunky tread pattern tyres with 12-inch rims. Though Disc brake option is unavailable, the presence of CBS (Combined Braking System) on the Drum brakes is quite satisfactory. Aprilia offers the Storm 125 in Yellow, Red and Black colour options.
Mechanically, the Storm 125 gets the same air-cooled, three-valve, single-cylinder engine of the SR 125 which produces 9.6PS power @ 7250rpm and 9.8Nm of torque @ 6250rpm. The engine comes paired with a conventional CVT gearbox. The fuel tank capacity of the scooter is 6.5-litres.
Goodies like Alloy wheels, Hydraulic Telescopic front Fork suspension and a smartphone app through which the rider can locate the vehicle, access emergency helpline with location info, etc., will make the Aprilia Storm 125 a tough competitor to its rivals TVS Ntorq 125, Suzuki Access 125 and Honda Grazia.
