Bagalkote: Another violent attack in Kerur village; situation tense

Kulageri Cross: Days after the group clashes in Kerur town, another attack is reported from the rural parts Kerur.
Miscreants attacked several individuals at a dhaba in the Kerur Village in broad daylight. Sources said that five individuals were injured in the assault, three of them said to be critical. The critically injured, identified as Rajesaab, Haneef, and Malik, have been rushed to a hospital.
Meanwhile, rumours spread in the district connecting the incident with the group clashes that occurred on Wednesday evening. The situation remains tense in the area.
Police tightened the security in the vicinity of the dhaba and are investigating the issue. Police officials including Superintendent of Police Jayaprakash visited the crime spot. A couple of suspects are being interrogated, police said.
Earlier, the Bagalkote district administration had imposed Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) till 8 pm on Friday after violent clashes erupted between two groups belonging to two different communities at Kerur town in Badami. Members of both the groups resorted to arson and set ablaze several shops, pushcarts, and two-wheelers here on Wednesday evening.
