Bajpe: Prime accused in Periya Youth Congress workers’ murder case arrested

Kasaragod: An accused who is said to have been directly involved in the murder of two youth Congress workers at Periya was successfully nabbed by the investigating team at Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) on Thursday May 16th. The accused has been identified as Subeesh, resident of Uduma Pakam.
Soon after committing the crime, Subeesh is said to have fled to a foreign country. As soon as the accused alighted from the flight at MIA, the officials nabbed him. It is said that he had directly participated in the crime. The number of accused arrested in connection to the case has reached 14 with the arrest of Subeesh.
A gang had attacked and murdered two Congress workers Kripesh and Sharathlal on the night of February 17th 2019. The investigation was taken up by the crime branch which determined that the accused Subeesh had fled to a foreign country after committing the crime. Hence, they had decided to take assistance from Interpol.
Meanwhile, the police received information that the accused was planning to return back to the country and based on this information, the accused was caught as soon as he alighted from his flight at MIA on Thursday morning. After committing the murder, the accused had remained in town for some days after which he left for abroad. He is a head load worker by profession.
Conditional bail
Conditional bail has been granted by the court to CPI (M) Uduma zone secretary K Manikantan and Periya local committee secretary Balakrishnan who were arrested two days back in connection to the case.
