Ballari: 2 killed, 4 injured after government bus hits autorickshaw

‎Vijayanagar: In a freak road accident, two‎‎ persons were killed and four others were seriously injured when a government-run bus hit an oncoming autorickshaw due to a tyre burst on Wednesday. The accident took place at the Kuppina Keri Cross in the Taluk on Wednesday.

‎The deceased have been identified as Pushpalatha (20), a college student, and Meenakshi (38), a resident of Rampura. Ramesh, Eranna, Abhishek, and Swathi, who were in the rickshaw, sustained injuries and have been admitted to Kudligi government hospital.‎

The bus was moving towards Ballari when its front tyre exploded, and the bus veered to the right and collided head-on with the oncoming rickshaw. The deceased and the injured were on the ill-fated rickshaw, sources said.

‎A case has been registered under Kudligi police station limits. More information is awaited.‎
