Hundreds of people stood in front of grocery stores, Vimal-Gutka dealer shops, chewing tobacco shops near the old bus stand of Hagaribommanahalli town in the district.

It is gathered that only 2 pockets are distributed per person and the retailers were selling 1 packet at Rs. 125. Due to the surge in prices, customers went directly to wholesale dealers and bought chewing tobacco products.
