Bantwal ASI dies of heart attack

Mangaluru: An assistant police sub-inspector (ASI) attached to Bantwal town police station died of a heart attack on Monday, May 31 morning.

The deceased is Jayaram Rai (58), a resident of Manchi.

He had got himself admitted into a private hospital at Mangaluru recently after he started suffering from backache.

Jayaram had served in different police stations of the Dakshina Kannada district. He was known for handling the crime department in Bantwal town station under complicated circumstances. For the last few years, he was posted as ASI in Bantwal town station.
