Bantwal: Mortal remains of youth murdered by autorickshaw driver handed over to family

Bantwal: The police handed over the mortal remains of Suribail resident who was murdered by an autorickshaw driver after conducting the post-mortem.

The deceased is Samad (19), Suribail resident and the accused is Aboobacker, an autorickshaw driver and a resident of Kattepuni near Salethur.

The accused was produced in the court on November 9 evening and remanded to police custody for further investigation.

Case details:

Aboobacker had murdered Samad, burnt his body, and threw it from the hilltop of Muloorupadavu. Although, after a day-long search operation to recover the body of Samad was carried out on Tuesday, November 8, the operations came to a halt as it turned dark.

The search operation resumed the next day and the police found his mortal remains in a pit. The accused is currently in police custody and the police are trying to find out the reason for the murder and if any others helped Aboobacker to commit the crime.
