Belthangady: 9 rob house after tying its residents

Kokkada: A gang of nine robbers burgled a house on the raod leading to the Soutadka temple after tying the house owner, his wife and two children on the morning of Monday, December 21.

The robbers stole lakhs in cash and materials from the house of Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Nuje Tukrappa Shetty.

Shetty’s wife was admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru after being injured by a knife by one of the robbers.

Soon after the robbers left the house Shetty called the Dharmasthala police station who immediately rushed to the spot.

Police have started to pursue the robbers and have set up roadblocks across the district.
