Belthangady: A large number of fish were found dead at Kuvetty in Belthangady Taluk on Monday, March 14.
It is said that a chemical reaction might have caused the fishes’ deaths. For the past few days, local residents had noticed that the color of the lake had changed and recently found dead fish washing up on shore.
Tahsildar Mahesh J who visited the spot warned the locals to not collect the dead fish lying on the shore as it may be poisonous.
