Belthangady: Woman arrested for stealing valuables from a patient at hospital

Belthangady: A 26-year-old woman has been arrested for theft at a hospital in Dharmasthala here.
The accused, identified as Harsha, was nabbed from Bengaluru.
The theft had taken place on June 30 this year. Hema from Bengaluru who had been receiving treatment at a naturopathy hospital in Shantivana, Dharmasthala had lodged a police complaint that Rs 6,000 cash and Mangalya chain weighing 80 grams were stolen from her vanity bag.
Dharmasthala police had formed a special team for investigating the case. Following the clues, police arrested the accused from Bengaluru.
It is learned that Harsha, a native of Bantwal, was employed in Bengaluru. She had also obtained a visa to go to Dubai. Stolen valuables worth Rs 2.5 lakhs were recovered from her, police said.
Meanwhile, the accused was produced before the court in Belthangady on Thursday and has been remanded in judicial custody.
