Bengaluru: 33 students, 1 staff member test COVID-19 +ve at Whitefield boarding school

Bengaluru: At least 33 students and one staff member have tested positive for coronavirus at a private boarding school in Bengaluru’s Whitefield.

Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner J Manjunath said that 497 people, including staff and students, have been tested. The staff member who tested positive had taken both doses of vaccine, he added.

He further said that 497 people including 297 students and 200 staff members were tested and are waiting for the results. Medical teams have been deployed at the school. Senior doctors are visiting the premises every two hours.

The entire school campus has been sealed and all 32 positive cases have been isolated at the school medical centre and hostel as per Covid guidelines.
