Bengaluru: Inspector suspended for harassing female complainant

Bengaluru: A police inspector attached to the Kodigehalli police station has been placed under suspension for alleged harassment of a female complainant, authorities said on Wednesday.
The woman had approached the jurisdictional DCP to lodge a complaint against he accused inspector, Rajanna.
In her complaint, the woman said that she had gone to Kodigehalli police last month to file a cheating case. The inspector took her mobile number and began messaging her after a few days. She further alleged that the accused had given her a cover containing dry fruits and a room key.
As she could not take the harassment by the inspector, the woman complained to jurisdictional DCP in this regard.
The DCP then ordered a probe into the incident and asked the ACP to take up the investigation and submit a report.
The action has been taken as directed by the Bengaluru Police Commissioner Pratap Reddy, police sources said.
Sources have said that the Karnataka police department will also would lodge a FIR against the accused, Rajanna.
