Bengaluru: Man stopped for driving without helmet, assaults policeman

Bengaluru: A man from Bengaluru was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a traffic police officer who had stopped him for not wearing a helmet.
Mohammed Zaid of HBR Layout was stopped by the constable near the BDA complex. He had reportedly slowed the two-wheeler, yet hit constable Anand on his head and tried to flee from the spot.
The accused was then apparently chased by the constable who blocked the scooter with some help.
Following the incident, a case was lodged against Zaid under section 353 (obstructing a policeman from discharging his duty) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
