Bengaluru: NCB seizes 3kg of drugs concealed inside lehengas

Bengaluru: In a major drug bust, officials of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seized 3kg of drugs worth crores concealed within 3 lehengas in Bengaluru here.

The consignment of three lehengas was being sent to Australia, an official informed.

Acting on credible information, the NCB team led by Amit Ghawate, Zonal Director of NCB Bangalore, on October 21 intercepted the consignment and found white-colored crystalline substance, believed to be pseudoephedrine, placed within the fold of the fall line of the lehengas. One person has been apprehended in this connection.

Investigations revealed that the consignment was booked from Narasapuram in Andhra Pradesh by providing fake addresses and documents. The consignor, who was traced to Chennai was arrested on Friday.

An investigation is ongoing.
