Bengaluru: Police officials have arrested three persons for kidnapping and extorting money from a web designer in Bengaluru.
The arrested accused have been identified as Chaitanya Sharma and his associates Vaibhav and Amit alias Andy.
It is said that Sharma runs a lamp craft shop in Horamavu and had hired the victim Ajay Pandey to develop a website for his business.
However, Pandey recently found out that Sharma has not been using the website and he decided to delete the contents and sell the domain to someone else.
Angered by this, Sharma abducted Pandey at gunpoint from Yelahanka’s RMZ Galleria Mall on April 23. They demanded that he return the money that he had taken for developing the website.
The gang then forced him to transfer Rs 6.35 lakh from his credit cards.
A case has been registered.
