Bengaluru: Karnataka Police informed on Saturday, November 6 that two persons have been arrested in connection with the kidnap and murder case of a 21-year youth in Bengaluru.

News agency IANS reported that the arrested persons are identified as Syed Tazammul Pasha (39) and Syed Nasir (26). The accused were nabbed on Friday. The accused worked for the father of the victim, the police said.

On November 1, Tarun, a resident of Bharathinagar had left home saying that he was going to get firecrackers for Diwali celebrations.

A day later, a ragpicker noticed a suspicious gunny bag dumped near a stormwater drain in Banashankari and notified the police. Upon checking, the police found a youth’s dead body stuffed inside the bag. After the body was identified, the police began the investigation and tracked and nabbed the culprits.

Reports said, the accused had lured Tarun with a promise to get crackers for a cheaper price and took him to their sister’s place. There they tied his hands and plastered his mouth and face with duct tape.

Tarun was strangulated to death when he attempted to resist. Later, they kept the body at their place the whole night. The accused had stacked the body inside a gunny bag and dumped it near the Vrishabhavathi stormwater drain on November 2, IANS reported.

Even after dumping the body, the accused made a phone call to Tarun’s father and demanded Rs. 50 lakh for his release.

After his disappearance, Tarun’s worried parents enquired about his whereabouts with his friends and relatives and later filed a missing complaint with the police.
