Bengaluru: Delivery partners from across app-based food services like Zomato, Swiggy and Dunzo started an online protest demanding the Karnataka government provide a coronavirus relief package for their workers.
The protest was led by United Food Delivery Partners’ Union. Union president Vinay Sarathy V. said thousands of delivery workers have been working during the pandemic, risking their lives and the government immediately announce a COVID-19 relief package for them.
They further demanded that the state government should provide them with vaccines on priority and protective gear, like masks.
Also, they urged the government to provide sanitizers, masks and face shields, and offer better pay-outs and incentives.
