B’luru: Youth seeking to buy puppy online cheated of Rs 28k

A 17-year-old youth who sought to buy a puppy after seeing an advertisement on Facebook ended up losing Rs 28,000.
The victim Aneesh, a Thyagarajanagar resident was chatting with his friends on Facebook when he saw an advertisement for the sale of a puppy. When he called the number mentioned in the advertisement, the owner said that the buyer would need to transfer an amount of Rs 28,000 for purchasing the puppy.
Aneesh agreed to the deal and transferred the money to the man’s bank account. However later when he demanded more money, Aneesh grew suspicious and asked him to return the money he had transferred.
When Aneesh tried to contact him again he found that the man had switched off his mobile phone. Realizing that he had been cheated, Aneesh lodged a complaint with the cyber police.
