Five persons accused of abducting and murdering a youth surrendered to Bommanahalli police on Tuesday after returning from Tirupati.

The victim Suhas (19), a resident of BTM layout was reported missing by his parents when he failed to return home after attending a friend’s wedding party on May 9.

As per the police, the accused identified as Prajwal, Himadri, Jeevan, Rakesh, Avinash and Sagar had abducted Suhas in an autorickshaw. Later they stabbed him to death and disposed of his body in a deserted area near Basavanapura in Electronic City.

Following the crime, five people went to Tirupati while Sagar stayed back in Bengaluru. Two days earlier he was arrested by the police in connection with the crime. Upon hearing the news of his arrest, the other accused surrendered themselves to the police.

Police said that Prajwal harbored enmity towards Suhas following a quarrel over a petty issue on Ugadi. He thus roped in his friends to teach Suhas a lesson.
