B’luru: TTE held for misbehaving with woman passenger

Railway police have arrested a TTE on charges of harassing a woman passenger at KR Puram railway station.
The victim Piyali Burman Roy, a native of West Bengal in her complaint alleged that the accused identified as V. Santosh Kumar (42) demanded that she show her ticket when she got off the Howrah-SMVT Bengaluru Humsafar Express train at KR Puram railway station on March 14.
Piyali requested Kumar to wait for some time as the ticket was in her bag and she was getting down with her luggage. Enraged by this, Kumar pulled her and tried to pierce her face with a pen. He also verbally abused her causing Piyali to break down.
A video of the incident went viral on Twitter and triggered outrage among netizens.
Taking cognizance of the act, S K Soumyalatha, Superintendent of Police (Railways) directed the officers to investigate the incident and take legal action against the accused. The officials arrested Kumar based on the complaint filed by Piyali.
