Salman Khan has filed a lawsuit against a person named Ketan Kakkad, who owns a plot of land near the actor’s farmhouse in Panvel for allegedly defaming him by making false remarks about him.

Ketan, in an interview with a YouTube channel, had made allegations of child trafficking against Salman Khan and even alleged that bodies of films stars are buried in his farmhouse. Videos of the same are being shared on social media.

Khan had approached the court to stop Ketan from defaming him and sought that the videos be pulled down from social media.

As per reports, a court hearing in the matter was held on Thursday during which Khan’s advocate Pradeep Gandhy read out the transcripts of Ketan Kakkad’s interviews. He argued that Ketan had unnecessarily dragged the actor’s religious identity into the dispute, levelled allegations of child trafficking against him, and even alleged that bodies of films stars are buried in his farmhouse.

Responding to these allegations, through his lawyer, Salman stated “Without proper proof, all these allegations are a figment of the defendant’s imagination. In a property dispute, why are you tarnishing my personal reputation. Why are you bringing in religion? My mother is a Hindu, my father is a Muslim and my brothers have married Hindus. We celebrate all festivals.”

On allegations that his family has political connections and had links with the ‘D-Company’, Salman’s lawyer said, “I (Khan) have no political aspirations, I have never met with politicians,” and replied to some more alleged allegations with “So all Muslims are bad?”

Salman’s suit claimed that Kakkad had tried to buy a plot of land next to his Panvel farmhouse but the authorities cancelled the transaction since they deemed it illegal. Kakkad allegedly levelled allegations against Salman of getting the transaction cancelled. Salman’s lawyers stated that the “false, disparaging, and defamatory” statements are causing harm to the actor and his family.
