Vijayapura: Accusing Former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa of opportunism, Former minister U T Khader said that BS Yediyurappa remembers Muslims only when the elections are near.

Speaking at a press conference organized on Friday, October 22 at Sindagi, Khader said, ” The BJP has no sympathy for the minorities. If they genuinely cared for Muslims, why did they resist the ‘Shaadi Bhagya’ scheme? They also cut down the budget set aside for minorities, Why?”

” Common people are frustrated by the BJP administration due to price hike, atrocities against Dalits during their reign, etc. When Congress was in power we introduced several schemes. What has BJP done? Several schemes introduced by  Congress were discontinued by BJP. During the Congress rule, 18 lakh houses were distributed to the poor but BJP did not build a single house,” he added.
