It is said that Vijay had come back to the house after lockdown and often used to give mobile phones to the children. Sushmitha had warned Vijay several times which often led to an argument between the duo.
On Wednesday, Sushmitha and Vijay fought again over the issue and Vijay threatened to return to Mumbai. He began to pack his bag, angered by this, Sushmitha locked herself in a room.
The family members repeatedly knocked at the door but she did not open it, family members broke the window glasses and peeped in. They found Sushmitha hanging from the ceiling fan.
She was immediately rushed to the government hospital at Kundapur and was later taken to Manipal hospital. However, Sushmitha breathed her last on Thursday, July 29 morning.
A complaint has been filed in Byndoor police station.
