Byndoor: DC Jagadeesha says Arate bridge is safe

Byndoor: The Deputy Commissioner of Udupi district G Jagadeesha stated that the bridge on National Highway 66 at Arate near here is safe.

Jagadeesha said this after a report was submitted to him by experts who had examined the bridge recently.

A few days ago cracks had appeared on the bridge causing the bridge to be closed and traffic diverted to the old bridge.

The bridge was built three years ago by IRB Infrastructure Developers Limited.

Jagdeesha also said that the company will be carrying out repairs to fill up the cracks on the bridge.
