Car, bike catch fire after head-on collision

Belagavi: A car and a bike caught fire following a head-on collision that left two persons injured near Chikhale cross on Chorla Road in Khanapur taluk on Thursday morning.

The injured – Vishwanath Gundappa Boragi (32) and Sunil Mallikarjun Boragi (25), both residents of Vijayapura – were headed towards Goa on their Enfield bullet and collided head-on into the car of Sitaram Bamne coming from the other direction.

Due to the impact of the collision both the vehicles caught fire and was reduced to ashes in no time. Bamne had a miraculous escape while Vishwanath and Sunil sustained injuries and were admitted to a hospital.

Vehicular movement on Chorla route was disrupted for over 30 minutes due to the flames. A case has been registered at Khanapur police station.
