
Car-bike collision on Electronics City flyover: Man, woman fall to death

Bengaluru: A man and a woman were killed on the spot in an accident on the Electronics City flyover when their bike was hit by a speeding car and the two were thrown off the flyover last night.
According to the Bengaluru Traffic Police, the impact of the collision was such that the bike-borne persons were tossed into the air, after which they fell on the service road beneath the flyover from a height of 30 to 35 feet.
The incident took place around 9.45 pm above the lay-by in Singasandra on Tuesday night. The identity of the victims killed in the accident is yet to be ascertained.
“A speeding car heading towards Electronics City is suspected to have hit the bike (a Royal Enfield bullet bearing a Tamil Nadu registration number) before crashing into the sidewall of the flyover. The car was seen hanging from the sidewall,” police said.
A case has been registered under Section 279, 304(A) of the IPC, they said.
