Case booked against outfits for holding campaign against ‘love Jihad’

Udupi: Relating to signature campaign carried out by right wing organizations including Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Durga Vahini and Bajrang Dal near M G M College here on Monday January 22, a case stands registered in the town police station here under section 149 of Criminal Procedure Code.
A case has been filed against Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Durga Vahini and Bajrang Dal for holding a signature campaign here today.
Assistant police sub-inspector, Narayan, told that he noticed members from VHP, Bajrang Dal and Durga Vahini distributing pamphlets and ‘awareness campaign against Love Jihad’ when questioned on permission regarding the same they dint answer in a positive note.
He said that without obtaining permission from either the district administration or any other authority, the leaders illegally assembled about 40 people on national highway 169A and created obstruction for smooth movement of vehicles for an hour.
