Case booked against Wenlock former district surgeon and two staffs

Mangaluru: Anti corruption bureau has filed a case against district Wenlock hospital’s former district surgeon and two female staffs in relation to the mis-management of 11,42,280 rupees.
During the years of 2011-12 and 2012-13, the former district surgeon Dr. Saroja and first division assistants B.J. Yashoda and K.B. Suma have been accused of mismanaging Rs. 10,86,780 for the purchase pf surgical glass, Rs.45,000 for the purchase of linen clothes and Rs. 10,000 on the purchase of bedding material, thus bringing the total mismanaged amount to 11,42,280 rupees. Based on the complaint, the case has been booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act of 1988.
A press release stated that the case has been registered by DySP Sudhir M. Hegde under the guidance of ACB police superintendent Shruti N.S.
Dr. Saroja is now retired and Yashoda and Suma are still in duty. There is opportunity under the prevention of corruption act to register the case if 4 years have not passed since the retirement of the accused.
