Cell phone demand turned down; Teenager commits suicide

Kundapur: After his family did not heed to his demand for a cell phone, a teenage student commisted suicide by hanging himself. The incident took place at Kakkunje within Kota police station limits on Friday, August 3rd.

The deceased has been identified as Pratheeksh (16), a first year commerce department student of the PU College at Bidkalkatte. He leaves behind his parents and a younger sister.

Watching other students in his college, flashing cell phones, Pratheeksh desired to have his own cell phone. So he forcefully demanded a mobile phone from his poor family who could not afford it.

Distressed on not having his demand fulfilled, the teenager waited till the home was left alone for him and then proceeded to commit suicide by hanging.
