A team of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) experts, deputed by the Central Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation under the Jalashakti Mantralaya in New Delhi, recently conducted an extensive review of the progress made under the Jaljeevan Mission (JJM) and Swachh Bharat Mission in various Gram Panchayats of Dakshina Kannada district.

During their visit, the WASH team assessed several key aspects, including the formation of water sanitation committees, water quality testing, community participation, and other relevant matters.

National WASH experts Ramesh Kumar and Dr B Krishna Kishore led a dedicated team that focused on selected village panchayats in Puttur, Kadaba, and Bantwal taluks, gathering essential information and consulting with senior and junior engineers in the district.

On June 16, the team will extend their observations to village panchayats in Aikala and Kuppepadavu of Mangaluru taluk, furthering their assessment of the implementation of the JJM initiatives.
