Chief Secretary instructs authorities to build separate shelter houses for sexual minorities

Bengaluru: Chief Secretary of the state TM Vijaya Bhaskar has directed the authorities to build separate shelter houses to the sexual minorities who have opted to beg as their profession.
Addressing a meeting of the state-level coordination committee on preventing human trafficking he said that directed the authorities concerned to immediately take steps to rehabilitate those who are begging near traffic signals in Bengaluru and to build separate shelter houses to the sexual minorities who have opted to beg as their profession.
The people who are begging on the streets will definitely stop begging if the government provides them with ration cards under the Annabhagya scheme and shelters under shelter houses Scheme, he added.
